Akagera National Park covers about 1,120km2 and is one of Africa's oldest national parks, first gazetted in 1934. The north of Akagera is mostly fairly low-lying grasslands and savannah plains, similar in feel to the 'traditional' safari areas of East Africa.
Bwindi's Impenetrable Forest is a true equatorial jungle, inhabited by four gorilla groups. Amongst the dense vegetation the Colubus Monkey jumps from branch to branch, chattering its warning to its fellows hidden by the foliage. Chimpanzees, in families of 20 or 30, make the rounds, searching for fruit and edible plants.
The volcanic peaks of Rwanda are home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas and offer a safari like no other in Africa. Residing high in the mist, the primates have found sanctuary among the dark green, dense vegetation of the Parc National Des Volcans.
The Masai Mara is named after the Masai people that inhabit the region and the Mara River which snakes through the reserve. It is home to the ‘big five’ among-st many other species and is one of the most popular safari destinations in Kenya.
The word ‘Serengeti‘ is derived from a Masai word meaning ‘endless plains’, a fitting title for Tanzania’s most famous national park. During the annual migration over a million animals undertake the treacherous journey to the western Serengeti and the Masai Mara.
I want to thank you again for the professional way you put our trip together and will definitely be in touch when we want to visit Serengeti and Masai Mara in a couple of years’ time.

I searched the Internet for information and settled on Harmony Safari Expeditions Ltd. Great decision!! Francis was so helpful and answered all queries promptly. Our driver was Michel in Kenya and he was absolutely amazing. We marveled at his ability to spot game and drive at the same time. He was also knowledgeable and very good company. Our first night was at Galdessa which was beautiful. The tents were lovely and the lounge/dining areas were both comfortable and relaxing.

Kenya & Rwanda trip
Excellent trip! A big thank you to Francois "Matano" for the organization of our itinerary. We wanted to thank you, I and all my family, once again for this magnificent stay that you made us live. You knew how to reassure us and put us in the right frame of mind before coming to this beautiful country. And then Thiery our guide made us discover a good part of the beauty of RWANDA. He was very attentive and at no time did we feel in danger!
Again thank you and have a next time (we will be back in 1 or 2 years).

Rwanda Classic Safari
The driver guide is a super important part of any safari - one that can make or break the experience. Samuel and Harmony Safaris Expeditions far exceeded our expectations and we are grateful to our travel agent, Planet Jaguar Tours, for recommending we use them.
