This exciting 9-nights tour allows plenty of time in the Amakhala Private Game Reserve to enjoy game activities and plenty of wildlife encounters.

Then travel along the Garden Route where a range of stunning landscapes, mountainous backdrops, coastal views and indigenous forests are just some of the attractions.

Finally, arrive in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Cape Town. This cosmopolitan city offers a vast amount of diverse attractions and activities - beautiful scenery, Table Mountain, every kind of restaurant, shopping galore and even penguins on Boulders Beach.

Day 01: Amakhala Private Game Reserve

Meet on arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport and transferred to Amakhala Private Game Reserve. Check in and enjoy an afternoon game activity before returning to your lodge.
Overnight : Woodbury Lodge - Amakhala

Days 02-03: Amakhala Private Game Reserve

Game activities, including a river cruise, in Amakhala Game Reserve may bring you sightings of lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, monkeys, tortoise and plenty of antelope species. You may even see some of the more elusive animals such as hyenas or bat eared foxes. The game drives focus not only on the large majestic beasts, but also on the humble smaller mammals, birds and insects.

Day 04 : Knysna

After an early breakfast transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport. We set off from the airport between 1100 and 1200 hours (earlier if everyone has already arrived), travelling through the indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest towards the romantic seaside resort of Knysna, in the heart of the famous Garden Route, with scenic stops along the way.

Day 05 :Knysna

Cruise on the vast Knysna Lagoon and visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy an amazing view of the imposing sandstone 'Heads' which guard the sea entrance to Knysna's huge tidal lagoon, and the forests, marshes and pristine beaches beyond. After lunch the remainder of the day is at leisure to enjoy this delightful town.

Day 06 :Oudtshoorn

After breakfast we head underground for a fascinating tour of the Cango Caves, one of South Africa's most incredible natural wonders, and enjoy the wonderful views of the spectacular Outeniqua Pass en route to Oudtshoorn, the 'feather capital of the world', so named because it's the centre of South Africa's ostrich industry. After lunch, which features ostrich steak on the menu, we learn more about these hardy, enigmatic creatures during a tour of an ostrich farm. Drive to your hotel for overnight.

Day 07 :Cape Town

After breakfast travel to Cape Town enjoying the ever changing scenery on the way. During the whale season (July-November) we will travel via the seaside village of Hermanus in the hopes of catching a glimpse of southern right whales. Out of season we will travel along 'Route 62'. On arrival in Cape Town, you will be dropped off at your seaside hotel where you will be spending the next three evenings. Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 08 : Cape Town

Today you will enjoy a half-day city tour, visiting many of the fascinating and beautiful highlights of stunning Cape Town.Take a cable car to the summit of the legendary Table Mountain, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, (weather permitting) and enjoy the wonderful views. Drive to Camps Bay, a magnificent white sand beach, wind through Clifton, home to some of the most expensive real estate in South Africa before meandering through Sea Point. Then City Hall where Nelson Mandela made his first public speech after his release from the balcony. Drive past the Castle of Good Hope. Return to your hotel.

Day 09: Cape Town

Today enjoy a full-day Peninsula tour. Cruise along the coastline known as Millionaire's Paradise - from Clifton to Camps Bay, to the exclusive beach hamlet of Llandudno - towards the charming working harbour of Hout Bay. Enjoy aSeal Island cruise (optional, payable locally). Wind along the legendary Chapman's Peak Drive, hugging the cliffs and relishing the breathtaking ocean views, before arriving at your lunch spot of choice (payable locally) at the Cape of Good Hope Section of the Table Mountain National Park. Meander back along the coast towards the City, visiting the historic naval port of Simon's Town and the endearing penguin colony at Boulder's Beach (payable locally). You venture inland to your last stop of the day at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Day 10: Depart

After a leisurely breakfast, transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your onward travel arrangements.
