Day 01: Arrival
On arrival, you will be welcomed by our guide at the Airport and be transferred to your hotel in Kampala for dinner and overnight. Ndere center
Day 02: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
After your breakfast, you will be picked up from Kampala by our experienced driver guide and depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National park. Have a brief stopover for pictures at the Equator (KAYABWE) and proceed to Mbarara for a 2nd stopover for lunch at Agip motel and later on to Bwindi arriving in the evening, overnight at Gorilla Valley lodge
Day 03: Gorilla Tracking
You will rise relatively early for a jovial breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking. Report to the ranger station at 08.00 am where the guides will take you through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, to track gorillas. This trek can take from half an hour to five hours therefore, a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. On top of that, there are other animals and birds which you could see on the way. You will spend only one hour with the gorillas as you listen, watch and marvel at them. It is amazing, for one to be in audience with these giants and think they would attack you. However, these gentle giants as they are known don’t attack anybody unless they are threatened, and sometimes, they tease you by jumping up and down and hitting their chests to scare you and see what your reaction would be. Under the circumstances, it is advisable not to look at them directly into their eyes, but look down and don’t show any jocular actions that may be interpreted as an attack to them, keep silence and talk in small tones. And after one hour, they will leave you where you are or your guide will tell you when to depart. If you have the afternoon free, we could walk to the water fall nearby or you can take a guided village amongst the locals. Return at your lodge for an overnight and dinner as above. (Meals: FB)
Day 04: Transfer back to Kampala
Enjoy breakfast early in the morning and drive back to Kampala. Make a brief stopover in
Mbarara for lunch. Continue with the journey to Kampala. We shall have a stopover in Masaka to stretch your legs. We shall drive to Entebbe to our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
UWEC accommodation
Day 05: Visit UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education center) – Transfer to Kalangala.
After an early morning breakfast, we shall have a short tour in UWEC, this is a show case home of various animals which live in our national parks except for the Gorillas. After we shall have lunch and then drive to Nakiwogo to aboard a ferry to Kalangala. We shall be sailing on water until we reach kalangala to Victoria forest resort were we shall have our dinner and overnight.
Day 06: Nature walks at Kalangala Island
After morning breakfast, our guide we walk us through Kalangala Island to have a chance to see different attributes found in Kalangala, after we shall return for Lunch and relax at the resort. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 07: Relax at the Beach
After breakfast, we shall spend our day at the beach relaxing and enjoying the breeze. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the resort as above.
Day 08: Ferry transfer back to Entebbe
After an early breakfast, we shall aboard a ferry to transfer back to Entebbe. We shall have a snack on our way as we prepare to have lunch in Entebbe. Lunch will be in Entebbe at a local restaurant selected by the guide. Dinner and overnight at UWEC accommodation
Day 09: Visit Ngamba Island and then departure
After breakfast, we shall drive to Ngamba Island to have an encounter with the chimps and to get a chance to relate to them before your flight back home. We shall have lunch and then go back to the accommodation for refreshments and then drive to the airport for our flight back to Cape Town carrying memories of Uganda.
